While we are able to help airlines that are just getting started on their path to carbon neutrality, there is a sequence that must followed by when working with the ACT Green Fund. Airlines must be already implementing an internal carbon reduction plan (also referred to as “abatement”) before they are eligible to purchase carbon offsets.  We can help airlines develop and implement abatement measures that are optimal, cost-effective and quick to reduce carbon, but we cannot integrate the purchase of our low-cost, high quality and high impact CORSIA-eligible carbon credits until that abatement plan has already been in place for some time. This ensures that our brand and that of our clients is recognized and respected by regulators and customers alike, since carbon offsets should only be a secondary solution once internal emissions are in the process of being reduced as much as possible.

ACT Green Fund was created by a meeting of hearts and minds between a seasoned aviation industry leader and an experienced and passionate climate solutions project developer.  Wayne Anaka, who combines over 40 years of executive and management experience in airport and ground handling operations and who ran several aviation companies in Canada and the United States, was always passionate about environmental sustainability. So when Andrei Stoica, a former Canadian senior public servant who spent over 5 years in the Amazon jungle running several reforestation and conservation projects through his not-for-profit corporation, told him that he would love to do something to save not just the tropical forest, but also the aviation industry, the two hit it off right away. Over the next few years, they put together the different pieces of the puzzle until they finally created a services and products package to offer the aviation industry a complete solution for carbon neutrality, combing carbon reduction and carbon offsets in a way that is truly affordable, effective, truthful and transparent, and transformative.
